  1. How to install Voxel3D?
  2. How to add the first voxel in an empty canvas?
  3. What is the difference between "Create->Voxelized Cubic 3D Canvas" and "RefModel->Voxelize"?
  4. What is Voxel index?
  5. What is Layer?
  6. How many undos are supported?
  7. What is the coordinates system in Voxel3D?
  8. Which plane is the 2D View showing?

After downloading the setup program, run it and a setup wizard will guide you through the installation process.

After creating an empty 3D canvas, go to any one of the three 2D View and add the first voxel by using the Add Voxel tool.

Create->Voxelized Cubic 3D Canvas is used to create a 3D canvas by voxelized a reference model. The workflow is:
  1. have a new document ( from the menu : File->New ).
  2. import a 3d model ( from the menu : File->Import->Reference Model ).
  3. apply rotate / translate / scale operation to the reference model ( optional ).
  4. create a voxelized 3d canvas ( from the menu : Create->Voxelized Cubic 3D Canvas ).
RefModel->Voxelize is used to voxelize a reference model into an existing 3D canvas. You can voxelize as many reference model as you want. The workflow is:
  1. have a 3d canvas ( from the menu : Create ).
  2. import a 3d model ( from the menu : File->Import->Reference Model ).
  3. apply rotate / translate / scale operation to the reference model ( optional ).
  4. voxelize the reference model ( from the menu : RefModel->Voxelize ).

Voxel index shows the coordinates of the current voxel. It is a zero-based index. If the dimension of your 3D canvas is 10 x 10 x 10, the voxel index "0 0 0" or (0, 0, 0) represents the first voxel along the x, y, and z direction. the voxel index "9 9 9" or (9, 9, 9) represents the last voxel along the x, y, and z direction.

The 3D canvas is displayed as layer in a 2D View, you can change the layer by pressing the Page Up key or Page Down key. The layer field on the statusbar shows the current layer index and the total layers in a 2D View. The layer index is a zero-based index. "0/10" represents the first layer out of the 10 total layers in a 2D View, "9/10" represents the last layer.

You can have at most 100 undos which depend on your free memory.

The 3D coordinates system is represented by the 3D Axes in the 3D View. The Red Arrow points to the positive x direction, the Green Arrow points to the positive y direction, and the Blue Arrow points to the positive z direction.

The Front View showing the XZ plane, the Right View showing the YZ plane, and the Top View showing the XY plane.
